December-2011 Monthly Meeting

Releasing Shale-Gas Potential with Fractured Horizontal Wells

The SPE Egypt section invites you to attend and to participate in the technical meeting of this month December 2011.
The topic is "Releasing Shale-Gas Potential with Fractured Horizontal Wells". It will be presented by Mr. Erdal Ozkan of Colorado School of Mines.
The presentation will be made at Sofitel Maadi hotel and towers on December 14 at 6:00 PM.
The distinguished lecturer program is one of the most effective programs of the SPE to disseminate knowledge. The Speakers and the topics are selected among hundreds of candidates every year.
Quarun Petroleum Company sponsors the meeting and the social event.
You are welcome to attend and to participate in this technical presentation. You may bring your friends and colleagues. Meeting attendance is open for everyone

     Egypt’s SPE Young Professionals section offers young O&G professionals the opportunities to share their knowledge and seek new avenues of professional and technical learning. All the tools to help you develop are here. By utilizing them, you do not only develop yourself but also ensure that we are all continuously improving as a community and growing into the roles that we must take to lead this industry into the future.

     If so, SPE’s Young Professional programs will help you. SPE offers you the opportunity to connect with practicing industry professionals; swap advice through the e-Mentoring and Ambassador Lecture Programs; and learn about the latest industry advances. You can even be nominated for awards, all by being an active SPE YP member.

 

Young Professionals Mission

• Encourage Young Professionals, 35 years old and younger, to become actively involved in SPE activities in order to give the "young" a voice within SPE.
• Promote young professionals within SPE, and SPE to young professionals. • Support young professionals’ career by assisting in, and developing, their personal and professional skills.
• Provide professional, personal and networking development opportunities to young professionals so they may challenge and lead the industry in a culture of mentorship.

Congratulations

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition for two distinctive active Egyptian SPE members. These awards acknowledge exceptional contributions to the SPE at section and regional levels and recognize their singular devotion of time and effort to the programs and development of technical expertise. The awards will be presented at the 2011 SPE Middle East Regional Awards celebration that will coincide with the 2011 SPE Reservoir Characterisation and Simulation Conference & Exhibition.

Congratulations for Dr. Mohamed Ghareeb as the recipient of the SPE 2011 Regional Technical Award in Production & Operation. Dr. Ghareeb is currently the Eastern Hemisphere Technical Manager for Lufkin Industries.

Congratulations for Eng. Nael Sadek as the recipient of the SPE 2011 Regional Outstanding Young Member Award. Nael is currently the Senior Sales Engineer for the Automation Division of Lufkin Industries in the MENA, Turkey and India region.
